I am working with a lovely small school located in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. We are looking for a cover SEND Teaching assistant. As a school, they are continually monitoring our Special Needs provision recognising that children need support in a variety of ways, at different times in their school life and for different periods of time.
As a SEND TA, you’ll be planning and delivering differentiated lessons, working collaboratively with SENDCOs, Teachers and external agencies to create a safe and stimulating environment for every child to thrive.
Responsibilities:
* Adapting lesson materials, making them accessible to pupils.
* Providing one to one support during class.
* Reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher.
* Assisting with literacy and numerical tasks breaking them down into more manageable steps.
* Understanding the individual needs of pupils to best support them in class.
* Helping pupils transition between the resource base and mainstream schooling.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with SEND children.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the pupil, parents and colleagues effectively.
* Patience, empathy and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students.
* Relevant qualifications and training in supporting children with SEND.
* An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
