About the Role
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Technology Lead to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art fermentation facility in Menstrie. Here, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, working with hundreds of unit operations and SKUs!
As a thought leader in fermentation technology, you will leverage your expertise in fermentation engineering and yeast physiology. Collaborating with cross-functional teams across Manufacturing, Process Sciences, Supply Chain, Finance, and R&D, you will define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) while overseeing continuous improvement programs to ensure we achieve industry-leading fermentation performance.
In this role, you will lead and participate in new product and process technology projects, coordinate product introductions, and engage in innovative interdepartmental and global teams. Your leadership will be crucial in driving our success!

What You'll Be Doing
* Develop expertise: Gain in-depth knowledge of all process technology at our Menstrie manufacturing location.
* Thought Leadership: Shape continuous improvement strategies through your expertise in fermentation engineering and microbial physiology.
* Define KPIs: Establish KPIs for each fermentation process and oversee projects to drive continuous improvement.
* Lead a Team: Guide a team of Process Technologists in maintaining and communicating control charts for fermentation KPIs.
* Optimization Initiatives: Spearhead initiatives to increase yield, reduce cycle time, cut costs, and enhance safety and product quality.
* Data Analysis: Collect and analyze process data statistically to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
* Subject Matter Expertise: Provide insights on aseptic design and SIP/CIP systems to minimize contamination.
* Support Operations: Assist downstream operations to ensure reliable and high-performing processes.
* Tech Transfer: Facilitate successful tech transfer to manufacturing partners, including SOPs and training.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with RD&A, QA/QC, engineering, production, and strain teams to translate requirements into actionable plans.
* Mentorship: Coach junior scientists and technologists through formal and informal leadership.
* Documentation: Maintain rigorous documentation of methods, results, and SOPs; contribute to IP capture and patent support.
* Safety Commitment: Consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to lab and process safety.
* Quality Standards: Adhere to biosafety, hygienic design, and quality management standards.
What You Can Bring to the Role
* Education: Ideally PhD qualified in Biochemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Fermentation Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience: Proven industry experience in fermentation and biochemical engineering.
* Background: Strong foundation in fermentation, biochemical engineering, and aseptic design.
* Expertise: Knowledge of yeast fermentation is highly desired.
* Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Collaboration: Ability to work with cross-functional teams at multiple levels.
* Data Analysis: Strong background in data analysis and statistics is preferred.
* Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
