Purpose of the role

The Buildings and Facilities Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for Landmark Theatres’ estate across North Devon and Peterborough. Based in either Peterborough or North Devon, the postholder will ensure all venues are safe, well‑maintained, legally compliant and environmentally sustainable. The role oversees hard and soft facilities management services, statutory compliance, contractor performance, capital works and sustainability objectives across both regions. The postholder will also have overall responsibility for buildings, environmental management, IT infrastructure and procurement. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong planning, sound judgement and a proactive approach to supporting high‑quality artistic and commercial delivery.

* Develop, implement and review health and safety policies, procedures and risk assessments to ensure full compliance and effective risk management.
* Monitor health and safety performance across the estate, ensuring that identified issues, remedial actions and compliance works are addressed promptly.
* Undertake internal audits, inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement appropriate corrective action.
* Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, ensuring timely reporting, root cause analysis and implementation of preventative measures.
* Coordinate health and safety induction and mandatory training for staff in collaboration with the People & Values Manager.
* Promote and embed a strong safety culture through active engagement with the Health & Safety Committee and cross‑departmental working.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and sector best practice, advising colleagues as required.

* Set, monitor and report on sustainability targets, including energy efficiency, waste reduction and water conservation across all sites.
