The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon keeps vital machinery running at all times. As an RME Technician, you will maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices. Your work will help keep colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime, boosting the availability and quality of equipment and enhancing the operational environment.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment.
* Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
* Use the latest tools to maximize equipment effectiveness.
* Uphold all health and safety policies and practices.
* Support the development and progression of on‑site apprentices.
* Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites.
A Day in the Life
Our RME Technicians are based on‑site so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You will carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance on site equipment to ensure it operates safely. In addition, you will respond promptly to breakdowns, investigate problems, and implement solutions as quickly as possible, while also recommending long‑term improvements.
You will work alongside senior colleagues, undertake day‑to‑day maintenance tasks, and liaise with contractors when external expertise is required. Working shifts around the clock allows Amazon to deliver at the speed it is known for.
About The Team
The RME team keeps equipment performing at its best. We are a technically minded group of team players guided by experienced leaders who troubleshoot and repair equipment across Amazon’s global fulfillment network. Our work includes installation of automated packaging systems, general maintenance, and repair of key distribution equipment. We maintain legal compliance, maximize efficiency, and continually seek opportunities for progression both within RME and across Amazon.
Basic Qualifications
* Completed a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or hold a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject.
* Relevant experience as a qualified engineer.
* Relevant experience working in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
* Advanced proficiency in the local language, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in condition‑based monitoring.
* Experience working with print and apply machines.
* Experience in fault‑finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems.
