We’re hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a global engineering business designing electrical and electronic test equipment used in industrial environments.
You’ll own mechanical design work from concept through to production, working closely with electronics, manufacturing, and product teams. The focus is on robust, manufacturable design and smooth transfer into production.
SolidWorks is used daily for 3D modelling, assemblies, and detailed drawings, alongside testing, validation, and design improvement work.
What you’ll do
* Lead mechanical design from concept to production release
* Produce 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks
* Support manufacturing and new product introduction in Dover
* Carry out testing, simulation, and design validation
* Create BOMs and maintain technical documentation
* Work across engineering teams on new product development
* Apply DFMA principles to improve cost and manufacturability
* Support PLM and engineering process improvements
What we’re looking for
* Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
* 5+ years’ mechanical design experience
* Strong SolidWorks (or equivalent 3D CAD) skills
* Experience with electromechanical assemblies
* Knowledge of plastics, sheet metal, and machined parts
* Understanding of FEA, stress analysis, and testing methods
* Experience with BOMs, ERP systems (SAP preferred), and change control
* Strong attention to detail and structured problem solving
