MI Analyst
Permanent, Full-time (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours). Hybrid – 2-3 days at our Derby office, the remainder working from home. Up to £41,000 plus benefits.
Are you an MI Analyst who loves transforming data into meaningful insight, improving reporting processes and shaping how leadership makes decisions? We’re building a stronger, more mature MI capability within our Risk & Compliance (R&C) function and now we’re looking for someone ready to make a real impact from day one.
About The Role
As our MI Analyst you will design, deliver and continuously enhance management information (MI) and insight for the Chief Risk Officer, senior leadership team and key board committees. This is a pivotal role within a regulated financial services environment (mortgages experience a real advantage) where your work directly supports oversight of key risk, conduct and compliance across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Produce monthly Legal, Compliance and Risk MI to an agreed timetable (dashboards, scorecards, trend packs, deep dives).
* Build executive‑ready CRO dashboards combining KPIs/KRIs with a clear narrative: "what happened / so what / what next".
* Reduce manual reporting by automating recurring processes and improving timeliness.
* Deliver regular Risk Committee and Consumer Duty dashboards and board materials, including trend commentary and emerging risks.
* Identify emerging themes and outliers using cohort and trend analysis.
* Translate complex data into meaningful insights tailored to senior and board‑level stakeholders.
* Ensure MI controls are fully evidenced, including audit trail, version control and reconciliation checks.
* Record all metrics and committee actions in the Risk Management System.
* Implement and monitor data quality rules.
* Ensure data handling aligns with internal policies and FCA expectations.
About You
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
* Strong MI / reporting experience within regulated financial services, ideally mortgages, risk, compliance, conduct or audit.
* Expert‑level skills in Power BI and advanced Excel (including Power Query, pivots).
* A solid understanding of data modelling, data quality and metric definition principles.
* A proactive, improvement‑focused mindset – able to streamline processes, remove duplication and optimise reporting.
* The confidence to challenge, influence and translate complex analysis into clear, concise narrative for executives and board audiences.
* Experience with Consumer Duty data is highly desirable.
What’s In It For You
* Private Medical Insurance (Vitality)
* 25 days annual leave (increasing to 28 with service) plus birthday off
* Matched pension contribution (L&G)
* Share save scheme (Equinity)
* Retail discounts and free entertainment tickets
* Flexible working hours with hybrid working
* A wide range of Learning & Development offers, from 121 coaching to qualification support
