Speech & Language Therapy Assistant

We are looking for an Assistant to support delivering communication and swallowing management & rehabilitation to adult in‑patients with general medical, neurological and age‑related conditions. You must be able to work well as part of a team, have effective communication skills and be passionate about providing excellent care to patients and their families living with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
* Level 2 Functional skills in Maths and English or equivalent (e.g., GCSE grade C/4 or above)
* One of the following: 3 A‑levels, Science T level, NVQ Level 3/SQCF Level 6, BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in a health‑related subject or a level 3 apprenticeship such as the Senior Healthcare Support Worker
Desirable
* Care Certificate
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
* Experience of working with people from different cultures, religions and ethnic groups and a calm, caring, patient manner (E)
* Ability to adapt to different situations
* Previous experience in a healthcare, education or caring role; demonstrating awareness of NHS healthcare policies and procedures

* Experience working with people who have communication or swallowing difficulties
