Rotation periods: 03.12.25 to 31.03.26 and 01.04.26 to 05.08.26.

* Rotation 2 — Trauma & Orthopaedics; Geriatrics
* Rotation 3 — Cardiology; Emergency Department
* Rotation 4 — Colorectal Surgery; Diabetes & Endocrinology
* Rotation 5 — Emergency Department; ENT
* Rotation 6 — Cardiology; Upper GI Surgery
* Rotation 7 — Trauma & Orthopaedics; Respiratory Medicine
Please note: as these posts are covering vacant NHS England Resident Doctor posts, an extension beyond 05.08.2026 will NOT be possible.
Responsibilities and expectations
* To work appropriately and effectively within your clinical team within the limits of your competency under clinical and educational supervision
* In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, and commensurate with your grade, to play a full part in the supervision and support of other members of your team including more junior medical staff
* In conjunction with colleagues, to take responsibility for the best use of departmental staffing and other resources to ensure the maximum efficiency of the department
* In conjunction with colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met and to take part in medical audit and research as appropriate
* To accept a duty to other staff and patients to ensure that any risks, incidents and hazards are reported and managed appropriately
* In conjunction with colleagues, to play a full part in the rota for the department and to provide cover for colleagues in respect of periods of leave and, under agreed circumstances, to be available to provide emergency cover
* To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of your patients to be able to contact you when necessary
* Any other duties as agreed to be appropriate
Support Available
* Dedicated Training Programme Director for the Clinical Fellow Development Programme, Mr Irfan Akhtar, to offer advice and support
* Portfolio meetings are carried out with Mr Irfan Akhtar
* Access to the Horus e-portfolio system
* Dedicated HR support from the Medical Workforce team
* Study leave allocation – 10 days plus £500.00 per year pro rata
* Salary £44,439 per annum plus out of hours allowances as per the Doctors and dentists in training terms and conditions (England) 2016
* Opportunity to attend F2 teaching
* Support for appraisal and revalidation
* 27 days annual leave per year pro rata
* Assigned an Educational Supervisor on commencement who will support you throughout your time on the programme
* Vast clinical experience with supportive consultant supervision
* The opportunity to attend additional teaching, grand round and departmental specific teaching
