This is an exciting opportunity to join Ridge’s rapidly expanding Retrofit department. As a built‑environment consultancy with a dedicated, standalone Retrofit team, we deliver full PAS2035‑compliant services to a wide range of clients across the social housing and construction sectors.
You will be supporting large‑scale social housing regeneration programmes involving multiple energy‑efficiency measures across hundreds of properties at a time. Working alongside our Retrofit Coordinators, Assessors, Designers and wider in‑house disciplines — including architecture, sustainability, engineering and building surveying — you will gain hands‑on exposure to some of the UK’s most ambitious retrofit schemes.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about retrofit, sustainability, construction or the built environment, and wanting to build a career in a fast‑growing area. No previous experience or qualifications are required, and you will have access to Ridge’s Retrofit Development Pathway, providing structured training, CPD and opportunities to progress into more technical roles.
What you need to do to be effective in this role:
Responsibilities:
• Support the Retrofit Assessment process across multiple projects, ensuring assessors, surveyors and coordinators are working to programme and delivering high‑quality outputs.
• Maintain regular communication with Retrofit Assessors, including phoning/liaising with surveyors to check progress, resolve issues, and track assessment completion.
• Manage and respond to enquiries from residents via the Retrofit Assessment phone line, ensuring a helpful, patient and professional approach.
• Organise and schedule retrofit assessments, coordinating appointment times, confirming access and keeping records up to date.
• Assist with the onboarding of new Assessors, ensuring documentation, training and system access are completed in line with internal processes.
• Work closely with Retrofit Coordinators to ensure data accuracy, smooth workflow and clear communication between all project stakeholders.
• Ensure all relevant project information is captured, logged and maintained within CRM platforms such as Airtable, supporting overall PAS2035 compliance.
• Support the collation and organisation of key documentation including survey outputs, photos, risk assessments and other assessment data.
• Contribute to the smooth running of large-scale programmes involving hundreds of properties, helping the team meet quality, compliance and delivery milestones.
Skills and experience required:
• Any retrofit‑related qualifications (e.g., Domestic Energy Assessor, Retrofit Assessor, Retrofit Awareness) are beneficial but not essential.
• Experience in customer service, administration, project coordination or a similar role is advantageous.
• A background or interest in social housing, construction, surveying or sustainability would be beneficial.
• Confidence using digital systems, spreadsheets and workflow tools
.• A genuine interest in retrofit, sustainability, construction, social housing or the built environment — this is essential, as it is a busy and hands‑on role.
• Highly organised, diligent and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A confident and patient communicator, comfortable speaking with residents, surveyors and internal team members.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft 365, especially Excel, and able to quickly learn digital tools such as Airtable and other CRM-style platforms.
• Good problem-solving skills, with a calm, supportive and proactive approach.
• Hard‑working, detail‑oriented and capable of working effectively within a fast-paced project environment.
