Job Title: Estimator – Commercial & Office Fit-Out / Refurbishment Location: AL9 (Hertfordshire) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team, specialising in commercial and office fit-out and refurbishment projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting tender submissions, and working closely with project and design teams to ensure competitive, profitable, and well-informed pricing decisions. Key Responsibilities * Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial and office fit-out and refurbishment projects. * Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to assess project scope and requirements. * Conduct take-offs and produce bills of quantities as required. * Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations. * Analyse subcontractor bids and make recommendations for procurement. * Collaborate with project managers, quantity surveyors, and the design team to support value engineering and cost planning. * Maintain a clear understanding of current market rates, construction methods, and materials. * Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as necessary. * Support the commercial team with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting as projects progress. Skills & Experience Required * Proven experience as an Estimator within the fit-out, refurbishment, or interior construction sector. * Strong knowledge of commercial office environments and Cat A / Cat B fit-outs. * Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings. * Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail. * Confident in negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. * Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel). * Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred but not essential).
