Client
Our client is one of Scotland's top construction companies and civil engineering contractors, headquartered in Glasgow and operating across the Central Belt, Northern and Southern Scotland.
Role
We are looking to recruit an experienced civils‑oriented Project Director to lead and drive a £100 million civil/access roads project in the North of Scotland.
Ideal candidates will have a civil engineering degree and are preferably chartered. Experience delivering major roads, bridges and similar works is essential, and a background in pre‑construction bid leadership or significant input is an advantage. Proven procurement and subcontractor appointment experience is expected. The successful candidate will receive an extremely competitive salary and package.
Responsibilities
* Report directly to the Managing Director.
* Oversee projects from start to finish.
* Plan, budget and identify required resources.
* Build and develop teams, set goals, assign responsibilities.
* Monitor construction progress, hold regular progress meetings with stakeholders.
* Ensure project documentation is in order.
* Coordinate all parties involved in the project.
* Maintain a high standard of health and safety on site and within the company’s health and safety policy.
* Control all site activities and resolve any site problems or queries.
* Manage the project within budget and on time.
* Maintain a high standard of finish on the project.
* Appoint and manage subcontractors.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a similar role within a main civils contractor environment.
* Demonstrated track record of senior client engagement.
* Significant post‑qualification project management experience of civil/highways/structural works of £30 million plus.
* Experience working to agreed targets within a commercial environment.
