Senior Engineer (Roads)
WSP in the UK & Ireland
Location: London & South East region – offices in Cambridge, London (Westferry Circus), Basingstoke, Guildford or Southampton.
Responsibilities
* Prepare designs and specifications in accordance with Design Manual Roads Bridges (DMRB).
* Develop designs using AutoCAD and Civil3D.
* Deliver work packages, move up to managing schemes and multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Provide support to Project Managers in planning, programming, technical input to pricing and cost estimation.
* Check, certify and authorise for issue designs, documents, approvals, and reports.
* Manage graduate engineers and technicians to deliver work packages.
* Work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders.
* Mentor and upskill junior staff.
Qualifications
* Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent highway design role.
* Working towards IEng or CEng status; professional qualifications advantageous.
* Highways design experience with DMRB.
* Experience complying with Designer Duties under CDM.
* Experience with AutoDesk Civil 3D advantageous.
* Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, procedures.
* NEC and/or Project Management experience advantageous.
* Passion for design and innovative solutions.
* Demonstrated initiative and ingenuity in solving engineering problems.
