Production Hygienist – Cleaner
Barker Ross is seeking a dedicated Production Hygienist – Cleaner to oversee hygiene and sanitation processes for our client based in Desborough. The role operates Monday to Friday from 05:30 am to 13:30 pm.
Key Responsibilities
* Sanitation & Cleaning
o Oversee daily and deep‑cleaning activities in production and packing zones.
o Ensure hygienic handling of products during primary and secondary packaging.
o Monitor cleaning and sanitising of equipment such as flow wrappers, conveyors, heat sealers and packing lines.
o Maintain hygiene zoning (high‑care, low‑care areas) to prevent cross‑contamination.
* Hygiene Inspection & Monitoring
o Conduct routine inspections of production, packaging and storage areas for hygiene compliance.
o Perform surface swabs and environmental monitoring (air, hands, contact surfaces).
o Monitor temperature, humidity and cleanliness in chocolate storage and handling zones.
* Documentation & Compliance
o Maintain accurate cleaning records, hygiene checklists and deviation logs.
o Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, FSSAI, ISO 22000 and internal audit protocols.
o Prepare for internal and third‑party food safety audits.
* Pest Control
o Coordinate with pest control vendors to implement preventive measures.
o Conduct regular checks to ensure pest‑free zones, especially around raw material and packaging storage.
* Incident Management
o Support investigations into hygiene‑related non‑conformities or product contamination.
o Recommend and verify implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Additional Information
Attire: The role requires wearing a hair net, overalls, gloves and safety boots, all of which will be provided by the site.
