Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need UK Security Clearance or eligibility. The role is based on-site near Reading or Chippenham, requiring five days a week.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Join CGI’s Secure Business Services growth strategy by helping build a new, cloud-focused capability within Space, Defence, & Intelligence to support high-profile bids and lead architecture for delivery projects across Defence. As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will shape cloud transformation and classification services.
What You’ll Do
* Architect & Design: Create high-level and detailed private cloud solutions that are secure, scalable, and resilient for bid and delivery phases.
* Bid Development: Collaborate with sales, capture, and proposal teams to craft winning cloud propositions, develop responses, estimate costs, and present strategies.
* Technical Leadership: Provide governance and quality assurance during implementation, guiding teams through migration of complex legacy systems.
* Client Collaboration: Work with MOD stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into solutions, and ensure delivery aligns with long-term cloud roadmaps.
* Security & Compliance: Incorporate best practices covering NCSC principles, government standards, and regulations into designs and transition plans.
Required qualifications
* Cloud Expertise: Knowledge of private and public clouds (Azure, AWS), IaC (Terraform), cloud-native patterns, and secure architecture.
* Communication & Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage stakeholders, simplify complex ideas, and advise on solutions.
* Strategic Solutioning: Experience assessing legacy environments, defining cloud strategies, balancing innovation, risk, cost, and compliance.
* Delivery Leadership: Proven record leading cloud migration projects, resolving technical challenges, maintaining architecture integrity.
* Defence Experience: Cloud solutions within Defence settings.
* Security Clearance: Already hold or be eligible for HLC clearance (UK National, not dual nationality).
Desired Competencies
* Bid expertise in technical responses, solution design, cost estimation, and pitching.
* Experience as lead architect for legacy to cloud migrations (3+ years).
* Cloud Architect Expert certification in at least one major platform.
* Familiarity with NCSC Cloud Security Principles, G Cloud, Digital Service Standards, etc.
