About the Role
As an Information Governance Officer, you’ll be the first point of contact for staff and the public on matters relating to:

8. Data Protection (UK GDPR & DPA 2018)
9. Freedom of Information (FOI)
10. Environmental Information Regulations (EIR)


You’ll:

11. Handle routine information requests and low-risk security incidents.
12. Provide advice and guidance on information rights.
13. Support investigations and maintain accurate case records.
14. Help manage the Council’s case management system, iCasework and maintain records on our corporate records management system, SharePoint.
15. Work closely with senior officers to ensure compliance and information governance best practice.


What We’re Looking For

16. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
17. Excellent communication skills – confident in speaking with colleagues and the public.
18. Experience in administration and managing data systems.
19. Knowledge of data protection and FOI legislation (or willingness to learn).
20. A team player who can prioritise workload and adapt to changing demands.
