We're seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team for a large education new build project in Dalkeith.
Location: Dalkeith, with some flexibility to work from home.
Hours: 40 hours per week, with some flexibility available. Please specify your preferred hours when you speak with us.
Responsibilities:
Initially working on a new high school and community campus in Dalkeith, valued at £45M, you will collaborate closely with the managing surveyor. Your role involves managing costs and cash flow through effective commercial management of subcontractors and client representatives under the contract conditions.
Your daily tasks include:
* Organising projects into work packages for procurement.
* Assessing subcontractor returns and awarding work packages.
* Negotiating with the supply chain to achieve value.
* Managing payment applications from subcontractors.
* Preparing payment applications to clients.
* Monitoring and measuring expenditure against budgets via CVR reports.
* Preparing final accounts.
Candidate Requirements:
This role is suitable if you can demonstrate:
Skills & Experience:
* A degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
* Experience working within the main contractor environment on similar projects.
* Comprehensive knowledge of NEC/JCT contract conditions.
* Ability to create monthly CVR reports.
* Comfortable liaising with client reps, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications & Certifications:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
