A new and exciting opportunity has become available within the Pathway Team, York's Leaving Care service.
The Pathway Team are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner to work within the Leaving Care Service as Practice Supervisor within the team. This new role within the service will be crucial in supporting the development of York's Local Offer for care leavers and embedding strong practice standards which aligns with City of York Council Model of Practice. The successful applicant will join our well-established team of personal advisors and specialist workers to offer reflective supervision, quality assurance and to support the team in offering an effective, purposeful and meaningful service to our care leavers.
This role will require you to be suitably qualified (DIPSW/CQSW/Masters/Degree in Social work) and as well as being able to evidence skills and knowledge in line with the job specification. We will also expect a passion for working with care leavers, corporate parenting principles and supporting the best outcomes and aspirations for our amazing cohort of care leavers.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
