Our opportunity
We are looking for an innovative Executive Principal to lead our transformation of SEND provision across our richly diverse and dynamic Trust. Committed to raising standards with a flair for innovation, the Executive Principal will provide both strategic and operational leadership initially for Bishopton, and the wider Trust’s high-needs education pathways. Within Bishopton, the successful candidate will lead with a strong focus on student reintegration, curriculum innovation, and staff development. They should champion the Trust’s core values, foster partnerships with industry, and ensure the continued development of the school’s specialist facilities. A commitment to mental health and wellbeing, as well as a strategic vision for employability and international engagement, will be essential.
Beyond Bishopton, the Executive Principal will have oversight of the Trust’s specialist Alternative Provision hubs, supported internships, and commissioned placements for learners aged 11 through to post-compulsory education. The role demands a highly experienced, trauma-informed senior leader with a proven track record of improving outcomes for young people with complex needs, including those with SEMH and SEND, and with expertise in post-16 transitions.
You will drive high standards of education, care, and ambition across all AP settings, leading the design and delivery of an inclusive and aspirational curriculum. They will also champion reintegration, therapeutic interventions, and collaborative partnerships with health, social care, further education providers, employers, local authorities, and school leaders.
This is a key leadership role within the Trust, suited to a visionary and compassionate leader who can balance high expectations with a deep understanding of individual needs. As Executive Principal, you will play a central role in shaping the future of alternative provision across the Trust, making a lasting impact on the lives of some of the most vulnerable young people.
Responsibilities
* Lead transformation of SEND provision across the Trust, with a focus on reintegration, curriculum innovation, and staff development.
* Provide strategic and operational leadership for Bishopton and wider Trust pathways for high-needs education.
* Champion partnerships with health, social care, further education providers, employers, local authorities, and school leaders.
* Oversee specialist AP hubs, supported internships, and commissioned placements for learners aged 11 to post-compulsory education.
* Design and deliver an inclusive and aspirational curriculum across AP settings.
* Drive standards of education, care and ambition, and champion wellbeing and employability strategies.
