JOB TITLE EV CONSTRUCTION PROJECT COORDINATOR IMMEDIATE MANAGER EV CONNECTIONS MANAGER JOB PURPOSE As part of MFG’s national infrastructure development strategy, we are delivering an ambitious construction programme to install new electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities across our UK estate. We are seeking a confident Construction Project Coordinator to support the Construction Project Management team to deliver multiple construction projects across the UK. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES Securing Power to siteWork with IDNOs, ICPs and energy consultants to secure HV and LV Point of Connections (POCs)Facilitate the exchange of information; including site feasibility, existing site load, EV power requirements, kva availability with associated costs, and timing of any DNO reinforcement works Provide support to energy consultants to progress government funding Manage pipeline of accepted POCs ensuring the components to successful energisation are in place:HV Earthing – arrange soil resistivity testing, earthing design reports and order associated earthing installation Harmonic Assessments – Ensure relevant data is with iDNO/DNO Legal Completion – ensure Wayleaves and Leases progress to completion Coordinate ICP appointments; manage IDNO asset adoption agreements, electricity connection agreements and metering installation orders ProcurementWork with third party manufacturers to ensure Transformers / LV panels / EV chargers are available for delivery to site as required Site Pipeline, Feasibility and Planning SupportEnsure property consultants and lawyers reviews are initiated when POCs are raised Monitor the progress of site feasibility and planning with appointed architects COMMUNICATIONS Internal: Liaise with Infrastructure, Operations, Fuels, and Development teams (phone, email, Teams, one-to-one meetings, conference calls). Regular reporting to senior management. External: Liaise with Project Managers, contractors, local authorities, regulatory bodies, and suppliers. Attendance of review meetings and work committees as required. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Essential: Strong administrative and project coordination experience Good numeracy and attention to detail Excellent skills in Microsoft Outlook and Excel Desirable: Experience working within an ICP / IDNO / DNO / CPO environment TERMINOLOGY IDNO Independent Distribution Network Operators A licensed company that owns and operates electricity distribution networks, typically serving new developments. They adopt and maintain assets built by ICPs. ICP Independent Connection Provider A company accredited to design and construct electricity connections to the distribution network (i.e., not the DNO). ICPs build the new network infrastructure that connects developments to the grid. DNO Distribution Network Operator A regional company licensed to distribute electricity from the National Grid to homes and businesses. They own and maintain the existing local electricity networks. CPO Charge Point Operator A company responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining EV (Electric Vehicle) charging stations. HV High Voltage Refers to electricity at voltages typically above 1,000 volts. Used for major infrastructure and large connections. LV Low Voltage Electricity distribution typically below 1,000 volts — what most commercial and residential connections use. KVA Kilovolt-Amperes A unit of apparent power used to describe electrical load or capacity (1 kVA = 1,000 volt-amperes). Used when planning network capacity and load requirements. POC Point of Connection The location on the existing electricity network (owned by a DNO or IDNO) where a new connection will be made.
