Job Description:
Your new company Maintenance Supervisor required for a large transportation and logistics business in Hull. You will lead, support, and coach a team of engineers while working on the site maintenance plan. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organisation's asset management, environmental, health, and safety policies and programs.
Your new role
You will work closely with a team of maintenance engineers, responding to breakdowns with urgency, and working on the site PPM. You will raise permits for contractors and manage contractor works. You will ensure engineers are assigned tasks in priority order and work safely, ensuring all works are recorded in the company's CMMS. You will carry out tasks including changeover of machinery within standard operating procedures, completing daily engineering reports, recording works, and ensuring critical spares are logged and ordered if appropriate. You will support training on equipment when required and manage a skills matrix to identify training needs for your team members. You will attend daily shift change meetings, ensure detailed effective handovers are communicated, and report on asset availability, RCAs, and project updates.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an apprentice-trained Engineer with a background in transportation, quarry, logistics, freight, or manufacturing, with experience in leading and developing a team. You will have strong electrical and mechanical abilities across a range of high-speed processing equipment, with a good understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics. Excellent fault-finding skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to maintenance are essential. You will be a strong people leader with good coaching and mentoring skills.
What you'll get in return
This role offers an attractive salary, working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work required. The position is temporary for 12 months.
