Overview
Senior Registered Nurse required to join the Inpatient Unit at Bolton Hospice. The role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to further develop nursing skills and knowledge within specialist palliative care. Bolton Hospice is committed to providing high quality, expert specialist palliative and end-of-life care.
Salary £33,487–£37,796 per year (dependent upon experience). Unsocial hours enhancements paid in addition to basic salary. 23.5 hours per week (full-time and part-time options available; flex dependent on applicants). The role covers a 24-hour, 7-day service and will include weekends and rotation to night duty. Long day shifts and night shifts are expected.
Responsibilities
* Work with others to ensure the highest standards of nursing and clinical care to patients and carers.
* Advise and support staff; demonstrate competence in the specialty and broaden remit in line with current evidence-based knowledge and training.
Qualifications
* Essential: Registered General Nurse (RGN).
* Essential: Diploma/degree or relevant experience.
* Essential: ENB998 or Mentorship/Preceptors (desirable).
Experience and Skills
* Essential: Significant experience in the specialty; proven experience of managing change; experience or training in carrying out appraisals; application of evidence to practice; evidence of multi-professional working; experience of audit; experience of supporting junior staff; understanding and application of the NMC and other professional codes of conduct.
* Desirable: Enhanced communication skills; EOLC module; ability to manage risk; planning personal and professional development; clinical credibility in palliative care; computer literacy; excellent communication skills; punctual, reliable and flexible; ability to prioritise and manage time; numeracy skills.

* Essential knowledge: up-to-date knowledge base of the specialty.

* Desirable: Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use (subject to the Equality Act 2010).
Requirements
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required; post subject to Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975 and DBS submission.
* UK Registration: current UK professional registration required.
