We’re looking for an exceptional DevOps Engineer to help us make a difference to our planet. The role may be suitable for hybrid working, where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non‑contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week. We’ll work together to agree a pattern that works for everyone.
Base pay range
The total reward package can be up to £51,648 annually, including a £35,145 base pay, a Civil Service pension, a Recruitment Retention Allowance of £2,200 per annum (April 2024 – March 2026), and annual leave starting at 27.5 days (rising to 32.5 days after 5 years) with an option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year.

Your world of expertise
Joining the Corporate Applications team within Corporate Technology, you will provide technical support and development for a wide range of services and technologies. The team is a DevOps function defined by the Government Digital and Data Profession Capability Framework.
Your key duties
* Analyse current processes and identify opportunities to optimise them; evaluate and establish requirements for changes.
* Develop and support applications and services built upon Microsoft tooling such as Power Platform and Fabric.
* Proactively monitor services for issues and provide a prompt response to incidents.
* Design, implement, and maintain tools and processes for continuous integration, delivery and deployment of business services. Collaborate with others to review and agree specifications, design, code, test and document programmes or scripts.
* Manage and develop critical business data integrations between systems.

Essential Criteria, skills and experience
* Systems Integration – experience in developing and maintaining integrations between both cloud‑based and on‑premise systems.
* Demonstrable experience with Microsoft services – including Dynamics 365 CRM, Power Platform and SQL Server Business Intelligence (SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS).
* Good knowledge of Power BI & Fabric development/support – demonstrate a good level of knowledge of Power BI development practices and Microsoft Fabric, or ability to develop excellent skills in these technologies.
* Process optimisation – experience analysing current processes, identifying opportunities and assisting in the evaluation and establishment of requirements for changes.
* Programming and build (software engineering) – collaborate with others to review specifications and design, code, test and document programmes or scripts of medium‑to‑high complexity using the right standards and tools.
