We are currently recruiting for an experienced MET Technician to join a busy automotive bodyshop operation in Upper Heyford. This role involves carrying out mechanical, electrical, and trim work to a high standard, supporting the repair and preparation of vehicles within a modern workshop environment.
The successful candidate will be confident working across a range of vehicle systems and components, ensuring repairs are completed safely, accurately, and in line with manufacturer standards.
The Role:
As an MET Technician, your responsibilities will include:
1. Diagnosing mechanical and electrical vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment
2. Removing, refitting, and aligning mechanical, electrical, and trim components
3. Carrying out suspension, steering, cooling, and light mechanical repairs where required
4. Working with airbags, sensors, seatbelt systems, and other safety components
5. Completing wiring and electrical repairs
6. Removing and refitting interior and exterior trims carefully and accurately
7. Supporting ADAS and system calibration processes where required
8. Completing job cards, diagnostic reports, and repair documentation accurately
9. Working closely with panel and paint teams to maintain workshop workflow
10. Following all workshop health & safety and quality procedures
The Person:
11. Previous experience as an MET Technician within an automotive bodyshop environment
12. ATA qualification, equivalent qualification, or time-served experience accepted
13. Strong understanding of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
14. Confident using diagnostic equipment and workshop systems
15. Experience with trim removal and refitting
16. Good attention to detail and quality-focused approach
17. Able to work independently and as part of a team
18. Reliable with a strong work ethic
19. Full UK Driving Licence (No more than 6 points for minor offences)
