Role
We are looking for a personal care assistant for our client who is a 16-year-old male who would like some support to get out and about and enjoy himself at the weekend.
Our client is a bubbly young man who likes to be busy, who always has a positive outlook on life. He loves to sing and dance, loves music, bowling, theatre, going to the cinema, trips away to safari park, loves being outdoors, into the woods or beaches or to historic sites. The ideal candidate will be someone who can suggest other things to do as well.
Our client has a learning disability and a communication delay, poor muscle tone and can use a wheelchair if needed, however our client prefers to walk. Our client also has a developmental age or around 6-8. Our client can communicate verbally and can make use of basic signs and gestures, but once you get to know him, communication won't be an issue. Our client is vulnerable and should never be left alone.
Our client is looking for a team of individuals to share this role, where you will work an alternate weekend shift, the right candidates would also be required for a few hours 1 day after school every week. Although this may change based on the applicant.
Applicants must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work. Our client has a lot of energy so it would be good if you did too. Having experience within this area would be of benefit. Training on hoist can be given if needed.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
