We are looking for suitably qualified and enthusiastic Environmental Health Officers, Environmental Health graduates or Technical Officers to join our busy and friendly Food, Health and Housing Team. The successful candidates will primarily focus on the regulation of Food Hygiene at businesses. We are also keen to attract candidates with experience in animal activity licensing and registration/licensing of beauty treatment activities. You will be required to carry out a wide range of environmental health and licensing functions, including visits, inspections, proactive initiatives and complaint investigations.
Responsibilities
* Regulate Food Hygiene at businesses.
* Carry out visits and inspections, proactive initiatives and complaint investigations.
* Contribute to licensing activities, including animal activity licensing and registration / licensing of beauty treatment activities (where applicable).
* Respond to service and customer needs with a flexible approach to environmental health duties.
Qualifications and Skills
* Registered Environmental Health Officers / Chartered members or graduates with a degree in Environmental Health, or Technical Officers with suitable experience.
* Ability to work towards gaining CIEH registration and Chartered Status; existing CIEH membership/registration is advantageous.
* Experience in food hygiene, with ideally additional experience in beauty and animal welfare licensing and registration.
* A full driving licence and use of a car is required for this post.

* This is a career-graded post; progression is linked to qualification and work experience. • Entry at or progression to pay Band 8 will apply to holders of a degree/diploma in Environmental Health or equivalent • Full membership of the CIEH and registration with EHRB/CIEH or Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner Status will allow appointment at or progression to pay Band 9.
