Job Overview
From the start of the Spring Term 2026, an exciting opportunity to join the Humanities Department within a forward-looking 3-16 co-educational independent day school.
Our small and collaborative Humanities team deliver lessons in Geography, History, Psychology, Religion and Worldviews and PSHE to small classes of pupils up to GCSE in our beautiful, leafy setting in the grounds of the home of Charles Dickens.
We are looking for an inspiring and effective teacher to deliver Geography teaching to pupils in Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, alongside some teaching of Religion and Worldviews and PSHE. The ability to offer Psychology to small groups of Key Stage 4 pupils is desirable.
The majority of teaching will be in our Upper School, to pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4, but there is some teaching requirement for pupils at the top end of Key Stage 2. Geography is an optional subject from the beginning of Upper Fourth (Year 9), when we commence the AQA GCSE syllabus, but it remains a popular choice amongst our pupils. The successful candidate will likely also teach some PSHE and Religion and Worldviews lessons, and an ability and willingness to teach Key Stage 4 Psychology would be a real advantage. The department has taken our pupils on some exciting educational visits in recent years, including last year’s trip to Iceland.
