Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, well‑motivated person to provide administration and secretarial support within the Emergency Department. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work within a team and use your own initiative.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide administration and secretarial support in the Emergency Department.
* Answer telephone calls and manage consultant and doctor administrative duties.
* Respond to emails, handle post, retrieve case notes and file clinical correspondence.
* Provide cover for other support staff.
* Conduct clinical transcription from digital dictation.
* Use and maintain IT systems – Word, Excel, Outlook, HISS and Nexus.
* Manage and prioritise your own workload without direct supervision.
* Maintain a flexible, friendly approach.
Qualifications and Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Team player with initiative.
* Computer literate – proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, HISS and Nexus.
* Ability to undertake clinical transcription from digital dictation.
* Experience in clinical audio‑typing, data processing and information technology.
* Strong organisational skills.
