Role Overview
This appointment is for a locum Consultant Dermatologist for a 1‑year fixed‑term contract at University Hospital Dorset. The role involves joining a dynamic, newly merged dermatology team that delivers the full range of dermatology services to patients in Dorset and Hampshire from two well‑resourced units at Christchurch Hospital and Poole Hospital.
Funding is available for a full‑time role, with flexibility to consider part‑time applicants to complement the current senior doctors plans. The post supports sub‑specialist interests, including Mohs micrographic surgery, medical dermatology, and/or pathology, and provides an opportunity for an associate specialist to complete training for CESR application.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist dermatology care across a range of conditions, working with a team of seven other consultants.
* Participate in an out‑of‑hours rota, which may involve evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with remuneration in line with NHS terms.
* Support the integration of cross‑site teams following merger and new hospital programme developments.
Qualifications
* Qualified Consultant Dermatologist with NHS‑approved training.
* Experience or interest in sub‑specialties such as Mohs micrographic surgery, medical dermatology, or pathology.
