About the role
As a Customer Delivery Installer Porter, you'll be the face of the John Lewis & Partners brand. You'll maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations in our customers' homes. This non-driver role offers a great opportunity for career development in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs. You will need to complete a 13-week Porter training programme, after which you will be able to install products including wet connections, TV, and Audio Installations. Upon completion, you will be assessed to obtain your Installer Porter qualification.
Key Responsibilities
* Start your day at the delivery hub before heading out on route, with responsibilities including:
* Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service as your priority.
* Helping load your lorry with the day's deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
* Demonstrating respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handling unexpected situations to find the best solutions.
* Installing products efficiently and demonstrating their operation to customers.
* Staying updated with new products and technologies to perform at your best.
* Maintaining a safe working environment.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
* Ability to cope with the physical demands of the role, including handling large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience with white goods installation, furniture assembly, or related skills.
