SEN Teaching Assistant / Trainee SEN Teacher
Salary: £26458 FTE
(£23,000 PA Pro rata - based on 36.75 hours per week term time only)
Contract terms: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:45am-4:45pm, Tuesday: 8:45am-5:30pm Friday: 8:45am-4:30pm
Part time working is available - with a minimum of 3 days per week including Tuesdays and Fridays
Annual leave: 56 Days School Holidays + Bank Holidays

How would you contribute to the Team?
4. Within small classes encouraging pupils learning and progression as well as improving their social and emotional development.
5. Providing teaching and support to our pupils, following individualised curriculum plans
6. Preparing and delivering lessons and activities, focusing largely on communication and life skills
7. Contributing to research and undertaking training to support your personal development
8. Supporting pupils’ participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice
9. Providing behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
10. Monitoring pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for each child’s needs
11. Assisting with breaktime duties including playground support and snack times
12. Providing personal care and encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding)

Fully funding Training and Qualifications

27. Behaviour analysis specific qualifications including teaching ranks, Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT), Board Certified Behaviour Analysis certification (BCBA), UK Society for Behaviour Analysis certification (UKBA(cert))
28. Masters qualification in High Incidence & Disabilities worth up to £13,000
29. Regular industry training in Safeguarding, Emergency Medication, Behaviour Management, Personal Care, Autism and more
What will you need to apply?
30. Professional, personal or voluntary experience of working with children and disabilities
31. Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalent
32. Confident working with children who exhibit behaviour that challenges
33. Confident supporting others with personal/intimate care where required
34. Ability to keep calm in high pressure situations
35. Commitment to our regular and ongoing professional development programme and training
36. A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
