Fabrication Designer – Bespoke Manufacturing & Design
Location: Basildon
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
Salary: £28,000 – £36,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time
Reports To: General Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Fabrication Designer to join our clients dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for bespoke design and manufacturing, particularly within the kitchen and restaurant sector.
As a Fabrication Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed drawings that guide the manufacturing of custom items. You’ll collaborate closely with sales, senior designers, and factory teams to deliver high-quality visualisations and technical plans. Your role will also involve liaising with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
Responsibilities
* Create scaled plans, elevations, schematics, and detailed drawings from various sources.
* Develop fabrication designs for bespoke manufactured items.
* Produce 3D visualisations and support design distribution.
* Conduct occasional site visits to gather dimensions and gain practical experience.
* Participate in design meetings and supplier coordination.
* Support quotation processes using CCE estimating software integrated with Sage 200.
* Assist in client communications, approvals, and project documentation.
* Promote ENSE suppliers and negotiate finders/retro fees where applicable.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proficiency in SolidWorks, Radan, and CAD Design.
* Experience with Autodesk Inventor feature design and troubleshooting.
* Understanding of architectural layouts and fabrication processes.
* Strong communication and coordination skills across internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

* Willingness to attend training, seminars, and meetings to support professional development.
