Overview
Digital and Operations Procurement Director role at GXO Logistics, Inc., based in Lancaster House in Northampton (hybrid). This position provides strategic direction and drives procurement digital performance and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Vice President – Procurement, you’ll partner with procurement, finance, and category leadership teams to ensure robust controls, optimised systems and alignment.
This is a full-time, permanent position. Working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

What you’ll do on a typical day
* Leadership & Strategy: Lead, create and implement a digital strategy with a focus on AI road mapping. Foster accountability, collaboration and continuous improvements with core technology solutions & UX. Drive value creation, embedding solutions and user adoption (ROI).
* Technology & Process Optimisation: Implement leading procurement tools, identify emerging technologies for P2P process improvement, and introduce category-specific solutions to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
* Governance & Compliance: Strengthen procurement governance through standardised processes, contract management systems, and alignment with internal policies and external regulations.
* Performance & ESG Integration: Develop reporting frameworks and KPIs to track procurement performance, embedding sustainability, ethical sourcing, and ESG principles into operations.
* Collaboration & Innovation: Provide leadership on key projects, identify risks and opportunities. Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, IT, Legal, Operations) for seamless execution, and foster innovation and capability-building initiatives.
What you need to succeed at GXO
* Procurement & Financial Expertise: Understanding of how AI is transforming procurement technology, advanced knowledge of ERP optimisation (SAP, Oracle), contract lifecycle management, financial governance and compliance, ensuring cost control and transparency. Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or Finance/Accounting such as CIMA or ACCA required.
* Strategic Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead teams through digital change, manage stakeholders effectively, and align cross-functional objectives with long-term procurement strategies.
* Analytical & Technology-Driven Mindset: Skilled in AI-enabled technology solutions, spend analytics, performance reporting, and implementing procurement technology roadmaps, including P2P optimisation.
* ESG Integration & Sustainability Focus: Strong understanding of ESG principles and their application in procurement processes, supplier engagement, and reporting.
* Personal Attributes: Highly adaptable, resilient, and results-driven, with exceptional communication, integrity, and a genuine passion for sustainability and team development.
