This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of forklifts and material handling equipment, en suring safe and reliable operations for clients. Key Responsibilities Service, maintain, and repair diesel, LPG, and electric forklifts Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs Test and commission forklifts and other material handling equipment Maintain accurate service and maintenance records Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safe use of PPE Provide technical advice and support to clients on-site Requirements Proven experience as a forklift or material handling engineer Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills Experience with counterbalance, reach, and order picker forklifts Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals Full UK driving licence Excellent communication skills and a professional approach Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable: Manufacturer-specific training or accreditation Experience with major forklift brands (e.g., Toyota, Linde, Hyster, Crown, Still) NVQ or equivalent in mechanical/engineering maintenance Experience with heavy industrial or warehouse equipment Benefits Competitive salary £38,000 £42,000 per annum Company vehicle or fuel allowance Overtime opportunities Technical and manufacturer training Career progression within a growing business Pension scheme and holiday allowance
