Midweight Designer (Motion & Content)
What are we looking for?
We're looking for a talented Midweight Designer (Motion & Content) to join the team at Jam.
This is a hybrid role for a motion-first creative who can bring ideas to life across social and digital platforms, while still delivering strong design fundamentals. You'll be confident in your craft, comfortable working at pace and motivated to produce work you're proud to put in your portfolio.
Around 60% of the role will focus on motion, editing and social-first content. The remaining 40% will cover branding, campaign creative, marketing materials and pitch decks.
You'll understand how content works in the real world. Not just how it looks, but how it performs. And you'll enjoy working in a collaborative team where ideas are shared, shaped and elevated.
Who is Jam?
We're a creative-led marketing communications agency based in Manchester's Northern Quarter. We believe in Extraordinary Thinking and delivering work that makes a tangible impact.
We work with ambitious brands across fintech, travel and purpose-led sectors, delivering joined-up creative across brand, content, PR, social and digital.
We're independent, energetic and commercially minded. We care about standards. We move quickly. And we back people who take ownership of their work.
You'll find a supportive culture here, real autonomy and the opportunity to grow.
Who will you be working with?
You'll report to the Content Lead and Account Manager, working closely with the Lead Creative and collaborating with our wider integrated team across strategy, digital and PR.
You'll also work with external production partners when required and contribute confidently in client conversations when involved in projects.
What do we need from you?
Create high-quality, social-first motion content across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Meta.
Be highly proficient in After Effects and Premiere Pro, producing polished edits and motion assets efficiently and to a high standard.
Understand platform-native content, paid versus organic creative and how performance data influences creative decisions.
Deliver strong traditional design work across branding, campaign creative, marketing materials, pitch decks and presentations.
Demonstrate solid typography, layout and visual hierarchy skills, ensuring all work is crafted to a professional standard across digital and print.
Translate ideas from scamps through to finished creative with attention to detail and consistency.
Interpret briefs clearly, ask the right questions and contribute creative ideas that strengthen the output.
Work at pace without compromising quality.
Collaborate closely with digital and strategy teams to ensure creative aligns with objectives.
Contribute to proposals and support the visual development of new business materials.
Stay curious. Keep improving your craft. Bring fresh ideas to the table.
