Job Description
Edinburgh Orthodontics is seeking a professional and efficient Dental Receptionist to join our team in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in our orthodontic practice.
1. Greet patients warmly and manage the reception area professionally
2. Schedule and confirm appointments, maintaining an organised and efficient calendar
3. Handle patient enquiries via phone, email, and in person with a supportive and friendly demeanour
4. Manage patient records and update information in the dental practice management system
5. Process payments and handle billing enquiries with accuracy and discretion
6. Coordinate with orthodontists and dental staff to ensure efficient patient flow
7. Maintain a clean and tidy reception area
8. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, correspondence, and inventory management
9. Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality and data protection regulations
Qualifications
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
11. Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
12. Proficiency in dental practice management software and general computer skills
13. Basic understanding of dental procedures and terminology
14. Exceptional customer service orientation
15. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
16. High school diploma or equivalent
17. Medical or dental reception certification (desirable)
18. Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role (preferred)
19. Familiarity with orthodontic practices (beneficial)
