Chef Manager
Location: The Sidcup Care Home, 2-8 Hatherley Road, Sidcup DA14 4BG
Contract: Permanent – Full Time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £14.89 - £18.35 per hour depending on experience

The Sidcup offers nursing and residential care, both long‑term and short‑stay. The purpose‑built home has modern comforts, en suite bedrooms, dining rooms, lounges, a cinema lounge, well‑maintained gardens, a hairdressing salon and a private lounge for family events. Visiting professionals such as physiotherapists and chiropodists are available. Weekly GP visits provide residents with regular medical reviews. During mealtimes a wide range of nutritious dishes are served, always made with fresh ingredients and tailored to residents’ dietary needs and preferences. Regular tea rounds include fresh cakes. Residents enjoy activities such as quizzes, bingo, film afternoons, board games, arts and crafts, trips to local places, entertainers, pantomimes, tai chi, massage and aromatherapy.
Responsibilities
* Use passion for cooking and experience in a fresh food kitchen to create a varied and nutritional menu aligned with residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
* Lead, train and mentor the kitchen team to deliver an excellent dining experience.
* Innovate cooking approaches while maintaining high standards.
* Manage all mandatory paperwork, including COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies, procedures, budgets, orders and deliveries.
* Cater for special events or seasonal activities such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays as required.

Passion for cooking, experience in a fresh food kitchen, relevant hygiene certificates, natural leadership, openness to new ideas, innovative approach, high standards, willingness to mentor and support others, and an appreciation for residents’ wellbeing.
