Business Development Director
Location - Flexible UK/EU

In this role, you'll be stepping into a dynamic scale-up environment pushing the boundaries with robotics and 3D laser printing for an innovative automation solution. This solution is poised to revolutionise product development and manufacturing within the Aerospace and Electric Vehicle sectors. This is a genuine opportunity to join a company just ahead of series A funding that have potential to scale services internationally.
You will be a strategic leader and an execution-focused operator, driving revenue growth, expanding margins through solutions sales, leading customer negotiations, closing deals and building long-term customer relationships. You will bring and develop an extensive network including senior and C-Level executives to gain access to key customer targets.
Drive Sales Pipeline and New Business Acquisition
* Lead efforts to build and convert a robust sales pipeline, ensuring consistent growth through new business opportunities.
Develop and Maintain Account Plans
* Create and manage strategic account plans in coordination with Customer Success and cross-functional teams.
Lead Bid Development
* Gather all necessary information for successful bid submissions. Initially draft bid content with team support, transitioning to collaboration with the Proposals Team upon its establishment.
Customer Insights and Communication
* Collect, organise, and share key customer insights and data to inform and support internal teams across the organisation.
Strategic Support
* Partner with the CMO and Product Managers to shape and refine go-to-market strategies.
Executive Support and Reporting
* Assist the CMO and CCO in strategic planning, performance tracking, and preparation of business reports.
Process Development and Team Leadership
* Design and implement processes and work instructions aligned with strategic goals. Lead the establishment, recruitment, and training of the Market and New Business Development Team.
CRM Implementation and Management
* Support the specification, rollout, and ongoing management of the customer relationship management (CRM) system to enhance sales and customer engagement processes.
Required Experience
* Proven team leadership and management capabilities
* Track record in Market Development, New Business Development, or Key Account Management within a physical product industry
* Experience managing multiple concurrent technical projects
* B2B sales and service delivery expertise
* Skilled in developing and executing inorganic sales pipeline strategies
* Successful in closing lease agreements, capital expenditure (CapEx), and service contracts
* Experience in sales management, including performance tracking and target achievement
* Background in wire harness equipment or contract manufacturing, or closely related industries
* Experience in recruiting and building new teams
