Location: Underley Gardens School – Kirkby Lonsdale; Waterloo Lodge School – Chorley; Oakfield House School – Preston. This is a permanent, term-time optional or flexible role with 37.5 hours per week (full or part-time considered) and 4 days a week with pro-rata pay options available.
Responsibilities
* Deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, are neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs, in collaboration with education teams.
* Hold a psychological caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Contribute to school development, staff training, and consultation as required.
* Uphold the standards of the OFG Psychological Practice Ways of Working within an education setting.
Essential Criteria
* Registered with the HCPC
* Doctoral level degree in Clinical/Psychological or related field (or equivalent if qualified prior to Doctorate introduction)
* Relevant experience in related settings or with related client groups
* Experience of effective multidisciplinary working (clinical and non-clinical, internal and external agencies)
* Experience communicating with families/relatives and carers
* Experience working across multiple systems within an organisation (service development, group and individual levels)
* Experience using a model of assess, plan, do and review
* Experience using consultation as a method of service delivery
* Competence in core areas of psychological practice and knowledge of the client group and their needs
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and neurodiversity
* Ability to develop formulations to inform clinical intervention plans
* Ability to develop and deliver training to different cohorts
* Ability to write accurate clinical records and reports
* Excellent communication skills in complex contexts
* Proficient IT skills or aptitude to learn core platforms
* Ability to work with a range of professionals to achieve service outcomes
* Ongoing CPD evidence
* Ability to use evaluation tools to demonstrate and improve service effectiveness
* Ability to make independent clinical decisions when necessary
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
* Willingness to complete group induction on commencement
* Commitment to organisational values
* Flexible approach to working environments
* Willingness to travel for company business; full driving licence and car access
Desirable Criteria
* Experience with specific client groups (e.g. neurodiverse, SEMH) and settings (schools, residential care)
* Experience providing supervision
* Knowledge of current philosophies underpinning services for the client group
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice and management
* Post-qualification training related to the role or client group
* Training in evidence-based interventions/approaches
