As a Vet you will be accountable for patient care within the clinic, whilst ensuring we deliver exceptional care, always there for our clients, patients and colleagues whilst maintaining the highest levels of regulatory and operational standards and compliance. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team at Medivet Weymouth – a busy, well-established branch led by an experienced and clinically progressive Branch Partner. Located in the vibrant seaside town of Weymouth on the stunning Dorset coast, the practice offers a high standard of patient care, strong teamwork, and a warm community feel, making it an excellent place to thrive both personally and professionally. This is a multi-vet practice with a highly capable clinical and support team including several RVNs, a Student Veterinary Nurse, a Patient Care Assistant and Client Care Assistants, all working together in a smooth, collaborative environment. We regularly receive compliments from clients and locums alike on how efficiently and positively the team operates. Our nurses are empowered and active in delivering excellent care – leading clinics, performing Schedule 3 procedures, assisting in surgeries including dental work, and contributing to a vibrant and supportive atmosphere. The practice itself is spacious, bright, and well-equipped with two consult rooms, a clean theatre, designated dispensary, and an in-house laboratory offering biochemistry, haematology, urinalysis, and microscopy. We also have an x-ray suite with ultrasound, a large prep room with a specific dental area and overhead lighting, and otoscopes in consult and prep areas. Nurses also make use of a third consulting space in the lab. Our cat and dog wards are thoughtfully designed with sound separation and glass-fronted kennels to reduce stress for our patients, and each room has independent air conditioning and heating. To top it off, there’s a large, enclosed garden – perfect for a quick breath of fresh air between consults. This is a full-time permanent position covering 40 hours per week, but we’re also open to part-time arrangements for the right candidate. The caseload is varied and includes a good balance of consultations and surgery, making it ideal for a veterinary surgeon who enjoys both elements of practice life and wants to build meaningful, ongoing relationships with clients and their pets. The Branch Partner has a strong interest in soft tissue surgery, regularly performing complex procedures such as BOAS and TECA, which gives a great opportunity to observe and learn or contribute, depending on your experience and interests. Weymouth is a fantastic place to live and work – from the golden sandy beaches and working harbour to the charming town centre and access to the nearby Jurassic Coast. It’s a dream location for anyone who enjoys watersports, coastal walks, or just the slower pace of life outside of work, while still being well-connected to other towns and cities in Dorset and beyond. If you're a confident, compassionate vet looking to join a progressive, welcoming practice in a truly scenic part of the country, we’d love to hear from you.
