Job Title: Section Engineer
Location: Greatworth
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + package + potential subsistence
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join our team on a prestigious Civil Infrastructure based in Greatworth. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the delivery of key infrastructure works, focusing on earthworks and structures. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in a major project within the highways/civils or infrastructure sectors, contributing to one of the most significant infrastructure developments in the region.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee and manage earthworks and structures activities on site, ensuring all works are completed to high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
2. Coordinate site activities in line with the project program, maintaining effective communication with subcontractors and the wider project team.
3. Ensure that all works are delivered in compliance with project specifications, relevant industry standards, and health & safety regulations.
4. Liaise with project management to provide regular updates on progress, risks, and opportunities.
5. Support the engineering team by providing technical guidance and overseeing the implementation of engineering solutions on site.
6. Assist with the preparation of project documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, and quality plans.
7. Manage resources, including labor, plant, and materials, to ensure the smooth running of site operations.
8. Carry out regular site inspections to ensure work is being completed to the required standard and provide feedback where necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
9. Proven experience in earthworks and structures on major highways or infrastructure projects.
10. Strong understanding of relevant health & safety regulations and quality standards.
11. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team on site.
12. Experience working on Tier 1/large packageprojects or similar is advantageous.
13. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (preferred) or equivalent experience.
14. Full UK driving license.
