Installation Engineer - South East
Netomnia is a small team of experts on a mission to bring a reliable, high‑speed fibre network straight to your door. Founded in 2019, we are building a new FTTP Internet infrastructure throughout the UK.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Field Manager, the Installation Engineer will install fibre connections into the customer premise, ensuring a first‑time right installation, maintaining outstanding customer service, and updating relevant systems promptly.
Location – Ashford, United Kingdom
Department – Direct Labour Operations
Hours – Full time, Monday to Saturday, 45 hours a week (7:30 am–5:30 pm) with one Saturday per month paid as overtime.
Salary – £30,100–£34,000 per year, with a target bonus of 20 % of salary and extra pay for one additional Saturday per month. On‑target earnings can reach up to £39,000 per year.
Key Responsibilities
* Primarily work on customer installations.
* Install fibre into customer premises while maintaining the highest standard of customer service.
* Manage the tools and vehicle assigned to you according to the vehicle policy.
* Complete assigned tasks on time and manage day‑to‑day jobs.
* Maintain H&S compliance.
* Work individually and as part of a team to achieve targets and KPIs.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Experience in a similar role, working on or on behalf of the Openreach Network.
* Ability to conduct risk assessment and hazard identification, with a strong emphasis on Health and Safety practices.
* Demonstrable experience and a proven track record working in a networking engineering environment (preferred).
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Clear and concise communication abilities.
* Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
* Ability to foster excellent working relationships within your team, manager, and other teams, with an excellent customer‑service attitude.
* A proactive approach to improving efficiencies and working smarter.
Requirements
* Must hold a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 12 months.
* SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent are desirable.
* IPAF 1b is desirable.
* NRSWA unit 2 (minimum) desirable.
* SMART AWARDS preferable/desirable.
* Have telecommunications experience or transferable skills.
