Bagging & Warehouse Operator at Arla Foods Ingredients Taw Valley (Grade 2 operator)

AFI Taw Valley produces 18,000 tons of permeate powder and 4,000 tons of whey protein concentrate using membrane, evaporator, and spray drying technology. Our products are used as ingredients in foods and dry blend products, requiring high standards of quality and food safety.
This is a fast-paced site. The Bagging & Warehouse Operator role involves working a 4 days on, 4 days off shift basis (Days only, 06:00-18:00). Main responsibilities include:
* Operating processing equipment to bag demineralized, dry blend, permeate powder into 25kg bags and 1-tonne mini bulk bags.
* Packaging and dispatching finished products, loading onto curtain side trailers using a counterbalance forklift truck.
* Filling out department log sheets accurately and completely.
* Processing SAP orders for finished products.
* Monitoring processes to meet department KPIs.
* Collaborating with engineers and team members to minimize breakdowns.
* Maintaining a hygienic and food-safe environment through cleaning and housekeeping.
* Recording and reporting process deviations to the Production Team Leader.
* Raising safety observations and maintaining a safe working environment.
* Completing mandatory training modules.
Essential training requirements:
* Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence
* Experience with SAP applications and label printing
* Knowledge of batch data and best before date accuracy
* Training on process equipment, including 25kg & 1-tonne bagging machines
* Experience with production log sheets and Microsoft Word & Excel
* Food Safety and Quality (HACCP Level 1 minimum)
Preferred/optional training:
* First Aid certification
* Self-motivation and responsibility for tasks
* Ability to work methodically following procedures
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Key safe behaviors: see it, sort it, report it
* Good communication skills and teamwork
* Numeracy and literacy skills
* Positive attitude
Requirements:
* Own transport preferred due to site location
* Previous production experience preferred but not essential (training provided)
