Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, manages large transport infrastructure projects, and is responsible for delivering a long-term multi-modal transport strategy for the West of Scotland.
About The Role
The Regulator is responsible for the safe movement of all buses in the bus station, ensuring the continuous operation of traffic, timely departures, and preventing unauthorized persons/vehicles from entering the operational area. The role includes controlling bus movements within the stances, monitoring vehicle movements and speed, and managing parking.

About You
Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable, and possess good communication skills both orally and in writing. The ability to read timetables and fare tables, along with basic keyboard skills, is essential. You should have good customer service skills and experience working in a customer-facing/front-line role. A good general knowledge of the transport industry, bus rules, and regulations would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications, including a National 5 Level A-C or equivalent in English and Math/Arithmetic.

The role requires working at Buchanan Bus Station, with possible assignments at various locations within SPT’s remit. Working hours range from 06:00 to 23:00.
This position is classified as high-risk under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and is subject to random and for-cause testing.
