Castledyke Primary School is a well established school which is built on strong family values, where everyone is seen, recognised and valued. We believe in every child’s potential and it's our job to make each and every one of them thrive. These values have meant we have been educating the children of Barton for over 100 years. Our children are amazing. They are intelligent, articulate, funny and curious; they deserve the very best school experience and we intend to make sure that this is what they get. To do this we need outstanding staff who are dedicated, passionate, dynamic, caring and energetic. We strongly feel that we have a committed staff team who are making a difference every day and we are looking for someone to join us and help us in our journey to make Castledyke outstanding and a place that children remember throughout their lives. We are currently looking for an inspirational Pastoral Support Officer, who shares our belief that shaping our children’s social and emotional development is just as important as their academic journey. We are looking for someone that has experience working with primary age children and who understands their development and is committed to ensuring every child at our school is thriving and happy. The ideal candidate will have the empathy to work with a range of children who need additional support and guidance to fully engage and enjoy school. We pride ourselves on strong relationships with students and their parents, so when you join our community you commit to always putting them first. You will need excellent communication skills and have the ability to build relationships with children and parents, ensuring you can support them to the best of your ability. Our ambition is not only for our children and families, but also ourselves. Therefore you can expect a strong professional development programme whilst in post, which will support the postholder moving into leadership roles in the future or there is also a pathway into teaching through the Federation’s own teacher training programme, RITE. Castledyke School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for enhanced disclosure from the DBS. If you are inspired by the challenge and responsibility of this opportunity, we would like to hear from you. If you would like to discuss any aspect of the post or organise a visit, please feel free to contact our Head of School, Mrs Cat Young via Please see the attached job description and employee specification which you should refer to when completing your application to demonstrate you meet the essential criteria for the role. As an employer, we promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect the same commitment from existing and prospective employees or volunteers. Recruitment to this post will follow our safer recruitment procedure which includes us requesting references prior to interview and a DBS check.
