Maintenance Engineer

Our DS Smith site in Blunham is searching for aMulti Skilled Engineer,to implement strategic maintenance initiatives in order to increase plant and asset reliability. You will be working closely with the Reliability Engineer, Operations, Engineering, OEMs and vendors to develop and implement best practices and increase plant and asset reliability.
1. Can you bring a hands on and proactive approach to maintenance?
2. Do you have experience of minimizing downtime of machines to avoid costs to the business?
3. Are all your engineering efforts focused upon increasing productivity and efficiencies?
Days role: 06:00 to 14:00 Monday to Friday
What a Multi Skilled Engineer will be doing at DS Smith:
As a member of the Engineering team shift working, to support as a breakdown Engineer, but also to support to safely carry out maintenance, process improvement and capital project activities in order to minimise equipment breakdown delay and maximise process capability / production (OEE) in line with performance targets (KPI’s).
4. To work safely at all times complying with and using (Safe systems of work, risk assessments and method statements)
5. To efficiently and effectively fault find and resolve technical / process issues
6. To resolve breakdown issues with minimal impact to production
7. To complete all maintenance activities on time as planned
8. To provide technical support for capital projects and improvement activity
9. Effectively communicate within and across departments using escalation procedures to manage issues and priorities
10. To comply with company purchasing procedures
11. To comply with stores procedures
12. To maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times
13. To be a proactive team member
What we would like our candidate to have:
14. Electrical and Mechanical skills
15. Use of workshop tools and equipment
16. Drive and PLC training (strongly beneficial)
17. Ability to work day and night shifts
18. Successful track record of working within a fast paced and demanding environment
19. Use of portable access and lifting equipment
20. Ability to carry out risk assessments and document method statements
21. SAP CMMS
