Project Manager We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to support the continued growth of our Banking and Financial Services Frameworks, delivering large‑scale, complex construction projects across the UK. At Morris & Spottiswood, we operate a One Team approach, working collaboratively across project, commercial, operational and client teams to deliver consistently high standards in safety, quality and programme performance. This role plays a key part in strengthening that culture as project volumes and complexity continue to grow. This role is suited to an established Project Manager from a Main Contracting background, with proven experience delivering major projects within live operational environments. As Project Manager, you will provide proactive leadership as the number one lead on the project, maintaining full control of all elements including design coordination, programme and planning, health & safety, operational delivery, and subcontractor management. You will have experience delivering projects within live banking and financial services environments, including work within highly regulated, secure and operationally sensitive settings, where safety, programme certainty, stakeholder assurance and minimal disruption to business‑critical operations are essential. Experience working for a blue‑chip contractor and on projects involving complex interfaces, constrained sites and occupied buildings is essential. You will hold a relevant construction‑related qualification and demonstrate strong capability in managing cost, commercial performance and programme delivery on fast‑track and complex schemes, often with a high degree of change during the contract period. Close collaboration with internal project teams is essential, alongside ensuring accuracy, quality and compliance with client, regulatory and governance standards. You will take site commercial responsibility for contract performance, maximising turnover and profitability while maintaining robust commercial processes and effective change management. Successful candidates will come from a Main Contracting background, with a minimum of 5 years’ hands‑on project delivery experience and hold a full UK driving licence. A strong working knowledge of JCT contracts is essential, with NEC experience desirable but not essential. The role requires nationwide travel in line with project requirements. Personal Attributes The successful candidate will be a confident and credible leader with a calm, methodical approach, capable of managing senior client stakeholders through clear and effective communication. They will be highly organised, with strong programme and time management skills, and commercially astute with a proactive approach to risk and change management. The role requires flexibility, resilience and comfort working nationwide and away from home as required, gained through experience operating within pressured, live project environments. Other information Due to our multiple office bases across the UK, this role offers flexibility on location and can be based anywhere nationwide, aligned to project demands. The successful candidate must hold a full UK driving licence, be flexible in working hours, and be willing to work away from home as required. You must be: * Fully IT‑literate (MS Word and Excel at intermediate level), * Have experience using Asta Powerproject, and * Hold a construction‑related qualification, CSCS card, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, Asbestos Awareness, and Scaffold Inspection certification. * Temporary Works Coordinator experience is desirable.
