We are seeking an HR Advisor to support the Cathedral's Strategic and Delivery Plans.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Overseeing and administering all aspects of the recruitment process, including drafting and placing adverts, arranging and attending interviews, and supporting managers.
2. Drafting employment contracts and letters for permanent staff.
3. Maintaining HR databases such as Sage HR.
4. Managing the learning database and coordinating refresher training sessions.
5. Handling HR-related correspondence and employee queries.
6. Recruiting Apprentices and liaising with college providers.
7. Organising and delivering staff inductions.
8. Ensuring compliance with Safer Recruitment practices.
9. Supporting HR projects and advising managers on policies and legislation.
10. Managing staff appraisals, probation periods, and exit interviews.
11. Assisting with DBS checks and disciplinary and grievance meetings.
12. Coordinating occupational health referrals.
13. Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
14. Performing additional tasks as required and providing flexible cover for the department.
Qualifications and Experience:
* CIPD qualification at minimum Level 3.
* High standard of education.
* At least 2 years' experience in a similar HR role.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Understanding of and alignment with the Cathedral's mission.
Desirable Skills:
* Level 5 CIPD qualification.
* Experience in records management and payroll.
Personal Attributes:
* Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and articulate.
* Numerate, methodical, and highly organised.
* Flexible with working hours when necessary.
Note: A satisfactory DBS check is required upon employment. The Cathedral is part of a World Heritage Site and a significant religious and historical landmark.
