Job Summary: The Head of Operations will oversee the development and management of residential, domiciliary, assisted living packages, befriending, and day care/work services for vulnerable adults and children. The focus will mainly be on services for individuals with learning disabilities and mental health problems, some of whom have behaviours that challenge. About The Role Key Accountabilities: Ensure that all work within Praxis Care is people-focused, respecting principles of privacy, dignity, fulfilment, independence, and choice. Be available to discuss difficulties with the people we support and act as their advocate, either within the programme or with external agencies. Oversee assessment care plans and reviews on a needs-led individual basis. Provide leadership, supervision, and management of staff, ensuring that all projects within the zone are fully staffed and within budget. Manage workloads and address staff development needs. Assist the Regional Director of Care with project development, initial management, and policy formulation to promote quality care and ensure the rights of the people we support. Participate fully in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor and recommend budget adjustments via the accounts system, managing services within the allocated finances. Liaise with carers, professional staff, voluntary bodies, and community groups to meet clients needs. Participate in committees and working groups as appropriate to the duties of the post. Criteria: Education, Experience & Training Qualifications Essential Minimum of 4 years experience in a supervisory or management role in a health and social care setting. Qualification in: Social Work 1st Level Nursing Allied Health Profession Level 5 Leadership for Health and Social Care Services in a relevant pathway Must be registered with the appropriate body within the first six months of employment. Desirable Demonstrable project management experience. Experience in policy review and refinement. Knowledge of accredited quality systems (e.g., ISO, etc.). Understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment affecting care provision in Northern Ireland. Knowledge of the local commissioning and provider environment in Northern Ireland concerning care services for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs. Skills & Competencies: Full valid driving licence and access to own vehicle (If a disability precludes an individual from holding a drivers licence, it should be stated how they can meet the mobility requirement of the post) Flexibility in working hours. Willingness to volunteer for one event per year to assist service users or fundraising department. Knowledge and experience in budget management. Attributes: Initiative, resourcefulness, and level-headedness. Pleasant, assertive, and diplomatic in approach. Highly motivated and innovative. Required Criteria 4 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a health and social care setting. Full valid driving licence and access to own vehicle Qualification in: Social Work, 1st level Nursing, or Allied health professional or Level 5 in leadership in health and social care Right to Work in the UK Desired Criteria Demonstrable project management experience.
