Are you someone with a can-do attitude who is motivated and looking to find a role in a friendly team at Devon County Council? If so, you could be the person we are looking for to join our Social Care Transport Team.
Social care transport is provided to individuals, who have had a social care assessment and identified transportation as part of their assessed need, and care plan.
In this post you will be speaking daily to social workers, who will send transport requests via Care First, and to transport providers, who carry out the planned routes.
Your role will be to arrange provision of transport via a tendering process, to confirm funding for the route has been approved and confirm the transport booking is in place. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day operational running of the social care routes.
A confident phone manner and experience of working in a busy office environment with an ability to prioritise your workload is essential. Good IT skills are important, you will be using a range of Microsoft systems including Teams/Outlook/Excel/SharePoint, as well as several other bespoke data systems for transport provision, managing phone calls and dealing with finance.
DCC supports agile working, with a combination of working from home and in the office at County Hall (Exeter). It is expected that you will work at least two days a week in the office and attend for training and meetings as required.
