THE OPPORTUNITY:
Are you someone full of passion, drive, creativity, innovation and you very much enjoy building new business relationships? We are looking for a Sales Manager role overseeing the sales function at one of the areas most reputable hotels. The role will involve both proactive and re-active sales, working closely with two colleagues in the sales department and the Front office team to drive business across all segments including accommodation, conferences, meetings and events.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
·Be fully accountable and responsible for delivering the key commercial lines of the budget.
·Lead, inspire and develop the pro-active sales culture at the hotel.
·Have a proactive approach to generating new business for the hotel and to build strong and lasting relationships with existing, lapsed and new clients, in order to grow market share.
·Work with the on-property team to maximise all opportunities, you will be working closely with the Wedding & Events Manager, Events Coordinator & Reception team to execute a strategy to drive revenue through a robust pipeline.
·Generate new meetings, events & teambuilding enquiries both with corporates and venue finding agencies.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Actively seek/identify, secure and contract new and repeat business for all areas of the business, across all market segments, with a particular emphasis on meetings, incentives, conferences & exhibitions.
·Have ownership and responsibility for driving and delivering the agreed strategies in line with the Commercial Plan.
·To represent the hotel at various trade shows and other industry events.
·Research potential new accounts, conduct get-to-know calls, plan appointments and carry out weekly face to face sales calls
·Identify and secure appropriate group, tour operator and wholesale business to help drive revenue, particularly over shoulder periods.
·Support the hotel General Manager to ensure effective data capture and database management processes and systems are in place for the hotel.
·Identify and target local leisure attractions to develop mutually beneficial affiliations and partnerships.
·Maintain extensive market and product knowledge and work with the hotel on adapting products and services to match client requirements and business trends.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
·Experience and a successful track record of sales management in a hotel or hospitality venue.
·Minimum of 3 years hotel sales management experience.
·Experience of working within a hotel sales team environment and being able to demonstrate effective coaching skills.
·Strong commercial outlook – sales and revenue driven.
·Excellent sales, customer care, account management and negotiation skills.
·Strong presentation and influencing skills.
·Highly motivated and enthusiastic
·Driven and determined to achieve results.
·Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and engage effectively at all levels.
·Knowledge of PMS and CRM systems preferred, although training will be given.
·Report writing skills and able to use word; excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint for presentations.
